The Introduction of INT
Institute ofNuclear Technology (INT) in Xi'an Jiaotong University mainly focuses on the research of nuclear technology application. Since its establishment in 2006, it has obtained many achievements in scientific research and educating students. So far, the institute has been financially supported by more than 30 programs, from National "863" program, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), contracts from companies, and international cooperation programs. Especially, it has won nearly 10 awards from national ministry. On the other hand, more than 30 graduate students have graduated and started their nice job career. The research interest in INT spans a wide range of nuclear technology, mainly including radiation effects, accelerator mass spectrometry application, radiation shielding materials, radiation detection technology, radioisotope battery, reconstruction of radioactive source term and environmental impact assessment in nuclear accidents, and radiation protection. Currently, we are continuing to keep close connections with several academic organizations at home and abroad. The following research projects are being carried out: 1) new mechanism study for heavy ion single event effects of ultra-deep submicron SOI devices; 2) mechanism study for heavy ion single particle displacement damage effects of micron-nanometer SOI devices; 3) study on the speciation and migration of iodine-129 inenvironmental media; 4)several key scientific issues for neutron spatial-temporal imaging diagnostic technique of Z-pinch driven target fusion; 5) neutrino experimental research as the collaborator of the Daya Bay and Jiangmen neutrino experiment; 6)physical design of the key issues on the Si SOI micro-doses array detector. A set of textbooks for undergraduate and graduate including Radiation Hardening Technique of Electronic Devices, Pulsed Gamma-ray Measurement Techniques, Composite Material for Shielding Mixed Radiation has been published and widely used, increasing INT's influence in the field of nuclear technology. In order to continuously absorb and utilize the latest research fruits in the field of nuclear technology, the INT positively keeps up with the cutting-edge direction worldwidely, and keeps good communications with more than 10 well-known organizations at home and abroad. In the aim of cultivating earnest, industrious, optimistic and enterprising students, we strongly believe that the challenging exploration of the scientific truth with decent happiness can stimulate their excellent comprehensive capability and widen their worldwide academic sight, which is necessary to make potential contributions to the nuclear technology career for the human being. It has always been our honor to welcome the domestic and foreign experts to INT for academic communications.
